SLIDE CAL V-OFFSET

1. Test overview.

This test is used to adjust the Voffset of the film Slide carrier so that the image scanned does not include any dark edge in top or bottom.
For that, the scanner will scan a slide and will determine the edges of the image in order to correctly centre it.
ReBrand: the slide making only 2528 pixels top into High resolution, and the CCD making 6000 pixels, it is necessary die to finish on which part of the 6000 pixels of the CCD it is necessary to acquire. It is on this part that the calibration will be made.
If the Voffset is incorrectly adjusted, the customer could complain about dark edges in bottom or at the top of the scanned image.

2. Test conditions.

This test relates to the Mounted slide gate inserted in the scanner.
The Mounted slide gate must be inserted in the scanner to carry out this test.
A standard slide (preferably sharp) must be used for this test.
The acceptance of the test is automatic.
The value of Voffset is saved in the file im1500data.ini, in chapter FILM_CARRIER_MSLIDE, line CENTREING_VERTICAL_OFFSET.

3. Pre-requirements.

4. Test realisation.

Click on "Run" to execute the test. A message will appear requiring the insertion of a slide. When the slide is inserted, click on OK.
The scanner will make its search for Voffset automatically, then will check that this value is stable.
A the end, the end value is displayed on the screen. This value is saved.

5. Acceptation du test.

No acceptance criteria for this test: the value found is the value saved.
It should be noted that the test checks the stability of the value. If two consecutive values are not identical within the 5 scannings, the value known will be considered unstable, and The test is rejected.
The Voffset slide value is about 300.

6. Other affected tests.

If the Voffset used is very different from the correct Voffset (example: Voffset used = 128, Correct Voffset = 248), all the following tests may be affected.

7. Trouble shooting.
