1. Test overview.
The scanner has two light sources and two sensors CCD. A source and a sensor CCD which capture a RGB image and a source and a sensor dedicated to the IR image. This implies that at any given moment the two CCD do not capt the same portion of image. This test allows the calibration of this difference.
For that, the scanner will scan a long film and will determine, for each top encoder, the shift between a RGB image and the IR image.
If the calibration of the encoder 2 is incorrect, the ADDR cannot function to its optimal, even creating non existing corrections.
2. Test conditions.
This test relates to the Mounted slide gateinserted in the scanner.
The Mounted slide gatemust be inserted in the scanner to carry out this test.
The B&W slide must be used for this test (ref. 070 100 319A):
The acceptance of the test is automatic.
The values of each top encoder are saved in the file codMountedSlide.ini.
3. Pre-requirements.
4. Test realisation.
Click on "Run" to execute the test. A message will appear requiring the insertion of the B&W slide. When the slide is inserted (Caution: Watch for the direction of the film), click on
OK .
The scanner will scan several times the slide.
At the end of the scanning, a curve will be displayed representing the difference between the IR and RGB positions of each top encoder. If the test is accepted the file codSlide.ini is created.
Caution : not to touch the scanner during the scanning of the film.
5. Test acceptance.
Too complex to define.
6. Other affected tests.
- Test Slide Cal RGB-IR.
- Test Slide ADDR.
7. Trouble shooting.
- If the test fails with the message " too much peak and waves" : clean the gears of the film carrier to eliminate dirt and scratches which could disturb the precision in the advance of the film.
- If the test fails with the message " Invalid raw coefficient " : Try to remake the test with another film (clean and new).
- If the test fails with the message " Cannot Write Final Coefficients " : ": the file codMountedSlide.ini is in reading mode only. Desactivate the reading mode only and remake the test.
