1. Présentation du test.
This test allows to determine whether the scanner is fitted with a compatible 120 light source or not and to check the conformity of the light channel (filter not broken off nor burnt off for example).
For that, light measurements are made by using the 3 filters (Nega, 120 and slide) and of the darkposition. Measurement Ratios will allow to determine whether a compatible 120 light source is present or not and if the levels of light are correct.
If a non-compatible 120 source is present, the user will not be able to scan the 120 film .
Note : a compatible 120 source is equipped with a 120 filter whereas a non-compatible 120 source is fitted with a grid.
2. Test conditions.
This test relates to the scanner only.
No film carrier must be present in the scanner during this test.
No film is necessary for this test.
The acceptance of the test is automatic.
The presence of a compatible 120 light source is saved in the file im1500data.ini, in chapter LIGHT_SOURCE, with line 120_MANAGEMENT. (1 = compatible 120 source present, 0 = non-compatible 120 source present).
3. Pre-requirements.
None.
4. Réalisation du test.
Click on "
RUN " to carry out the test. The scanner will make a light measurement by using the three filters and the dark position. For each measurement, the result will be displayed on the execution window with the corresponding curves. At the end of measurements, the following calculations will be carried out:
- Nega / 120.
- Nega / Slide.
The CCD is shown in a horizontal way : the top of theCCD is on the left, the bottom on the right.
5. Test acceptation.
A compatible 120 source is detected if:
- The average of measurement of light in the 120 position is higher than half of the average of measurement of light in Nega position.
If a compatible 120 source is detected, the test is accepted if:
- the measurement of light in dark LED position is higher than 29.
- the Nega ratio / 120 is between 0,5 and 1,2.
- the ratio Nega / Slide is between 0,7 and 1,5.
If a non-compatible 120 source is detected, the test is accepted if:
- the measurement of light in dark LED position is higher than 29.
- the ratio Nega / Perfo is lower than 0,2.
- the ratio Nega / Diapo is between 1,2 and 2,2.
6. Other affected tests.
If a non-compatible 120 light source is present, the 120- film carrier cannot be usedIf the light levels are insufficient, all the tests which scan a film could cause problems.
7. Trouble shooting.
If the light levels are insufficient : Start by changing the lamp and start again with the test. If it does not work , check the filters. If needed (in case the filter is damaged) change the light source.
If a non-compatible 120 source is present and the customer wants to scan films 120 : change the light source by a compatible 120 light source.
