1. Test overview.
This test is used to verify that the scanner + film carrier are able to correctly read Code DX of film, i.e. film number (which is recorded on the APS cassette).
For this, the scanner will scan a film and verify that the reading is correct.
If the reading of Code DX fails, the customer could complain about an incorrect recognition of the film number.
2. Test conditions.
This test relates to the APS film carrier inserted in the scanner.
The APS film carrier must be inserted in the scanner to carry out this test.
A standard film APS must be used for this test.
The acceptance of the test is manual.
No value is saved.
3. Pre-requirements.
- APS Command Leds Test is accepted to ensure that the LEDS light up the CCD correctly.
- 135 CodBar Lens Test
is accepted to ensure that the barcode lens adjusted correctly.
4. Test realisation .
Click on
RUN to execute the test. A message will come up asking to insert the film. When the film is inserted, click on
OK.
The scanner will pre-scan the film and will display the Code DX result (of the type with xxx-xxx).
5. Test acceptance.
It is left to the user's discretion to judge the result of the reading of Code DX. If Code DX read by the scanner corresponds to what is recorded on the film (at the beginnning) or on the cassette, the test is accepted. If not, the test is rejected.
6. Other affected tests.
None.
7. Trouble shooting.
- If the test fails :
- Use a new film to make the test (if the barcode is worn, the reading can be inaccurate).
- Check that the LEDS light up the CCD correctly: test APS Command Leds.
Check that the barcode lens is correctly adjusted (in 135) : test
135 CodBar Lens.
