1. Test overview.
This test is used to adjust any shift between the perforations scanned through the barcode lens, and the images scanned through the principal lens. Indeed, the framing of the images is done on the perforations.
As they are scanned through a different lens than of the images, a shift may occur.
For that, the scanner will scan a film, and ascertain the shift between the perforations exposures through the barcode lens and the images exposures through the principal lens.
If this shift is incorrectly calibrated, the framing of APS images may not work properly.
2. Test conditions.
This test relates to the APS film carrier inserted in the scanner.
The APS film carrier must be inserted in the scanner to carry out this test.
The long B&W film must be used for this test (ref. 070 100 311B):
The acceptance of the test is automatic.
The shift is saved in file im1500data.ini, in chapter FILM_CARRIER_APS, line DELTA_LED_CCD.
3. Pre-requirements.
- APS Command Leds Test is accepted to ensure that the LEDS light up the CCD correctly.
- 135 CodBar Lens Test is accepted to ensure that the barcode lens is adjusted correctly.
4. Test realisation.
Click on
RUN carry out the test. A message will appear asking to insert the long B&W film. When the film is inserted (caution : watch for the direction of film), click on
OK.
The scanner will scan the film then will display an image mixing:
- Scanned images through the principal lens.
- Scanned perforations through the barcode lens (at the bottom and in red).
To determine the shift, the user must move the image from bottom towards the left or to the right-hand side (perfos) in order to superimpose the " inter-exposure " with RGB image. The number of pixels of which the bottom image moved to superimpose itself on RGB image is the saved shift value.
Click on OK to exist the window, The result of the test is displayed on the screen.
5. Test acceptance.
The test is accepted if difference between the saved shift value and the current shift value is lower to 2 pixels.
6. Other affected tests.
If the adjustment is really incorrect, all tests where an image is scanned.
7. Trouble shooting.
If The test is rejected :
- Redo the test so that the difference between the current shift and the saved shift be lower to 2 (normally ok at the second passage) .
- Verify that the LEDS light up the CCD correctly : test APS Command Leds.
