1. Test overview.
This test is used to check that the ADDR functions correctly.
For this, the scanner will scan a standard film containing of scratches and dust and will display the corrected non corrected image. The user will judge of the ADDR efficacity.
If the ADDR does not function well or stop functionning, the customer could complain that the scanner does not remove dust and scratches very well.
2. Test Conditions.
This test relates to the APS film carrier inserted in the scanner.
The APS film carrier must be inserted in the scanner to carry out this test.
A standard film (short preferably), containing dust or scratches on the first exposure must be used for this test.
The acceptance of the test is manual.
No parameter is saved.
3. Pre-requirements.
- APS Sharpness-CoeffG Test is accepted so that the sharpness is in the centre of film be to its maximum.
- APS Cal Encoder 2 Test is accepted so that shift RGB - IR on each top coder is calibrated.
- APS Cal RGB IR Test test is accepted so that the shift of the IR image compared to RGB image is calibrated.
4. Test realisation.
Click on
RUN to execute the test. A message will be displayed requiring the insertion of the film (first exposure containing scratches or dust). When the film is inserted, click on
OK.
The scanner will scan the first exposure of film then will display several images :
- the RGB image, enables to go from a 0% correction to a 100% correction thanks to an ADDR efficacity button.
- the IR image checks the presence of dust and of scratches.
- The difference between the IR image and RGB image.
Click then on OK then on ACCEPT to accept the test.
Note : the correction is better in meduim resolution than in High resolution. Also, test APS ADDR uses the Medium resolution.
5. Test Acceptance.
It is up to the user to judge the effectiveness of the ADDR. If the corrected image seems correct (wiped scratches and dust), the test can be accepted.
6. Other affected tests.
None.
7. Trouble shooting.
If the effectiveness of the ADDR is not sufficient :
- Remake test APS Cal RGB IR then to start again the test.
- If not, remake tests APS Cal Encoder 2 then APS Cal RGB IR then restart again the test.
- If not, verify the sharpness then to remake tests APS Cal Encoder 2 then APS Cal RGB IR finally start again the test.
