1. Test overview.
The scanner is equipped with two light sources and with two sensors CCD. A source and a CCD sensor which captures an RGB image and a source and a sensor dedicated to IR image. This implies that, at one given moment, the two CCD do not pick up the same portion of image. This test allows the calibration of this shift.
For this, the scanner will scan a long film and will decide, for each top encoder, the shift between RGB image and the IR image.
If the calibration of the encoder 2 is incorrectly done, the ADDR may not function to optimal capacity, even creating non existing correction.
2. Test conditions.
This test relates to the 135 Film carrier inserted in the scanner.
The 135 Film carrier must be inserted in the scanner to carry out this test.
The long B&W Film must be used for this test(ref 070 100 310B) :
The acceptance of the test is automatic.
The values of each encoder tops are saved in the file cod135.ini.
3. Pre-requirements.
4. Réalisation du test.
Click on
RUN to execute the test. A message will come up asking to insert the long B&W film. When the film is inserted (caution : watch for the direction of film), click on
OK.
The scanner will scan the whole of the film.
At the end of the scanning, a curve will be displayed representing the difference between the position IR and RGB of each top encoder. If the test is accepted the file cod135.ini is created.
Warning : : do not touch the scanner during the scanning of the film.
5. Test acceptance.
Too complex to define.
6. Other affected test.
- 135 Cal RGB-IR.
- 135 ADDR.
7. Trouble shooting.
- · If the test fails with the message " too much peak and trough " : Clean the gears of the film carrier to get rid of all the dust or dirt which could disturb the precision of advance of the film.
- · If the test fails with the message " Invalid raw coefficient " : try to re-test with another film (clean and new).
- · If the test fails with the message " Cannot Write Final Coefficients File" : ": the file cod135 is in reading mode only. De-activate the reading mode only and redo the test.
