1. Test overview.
This test is used to adjust the film carrier so that RGB image is of the same size as that of the IR image.
PThe scanner will scan a B&W film in RGB and in IR, will determine the size of each image as well as a ratio. A ratio of 1 means that the 2 images are exactly of the same size.
Note : the size of the image is proportional to the distance of RGB image The size can be modified by slightly pulling in and out the film carrier in the scanner, so that measurement in RGB is done on the same level as in IR measurement.
If the IR and RGB images are not of the same size, all of the ADDR system may be affected.
2. Conditions of the test.
This test relates to the 120 film carrier inserted in the scanner.120 film carrier must be inserted in the scanner to carry out this test.
A short B&W film must be used for this test (ref 070 100 424A) :
No parameter is saved.
3. Pre-requirement.
- CCD IR test is accepted to ensure that the measurement of the IR signal is correct.
- 120 Pre-Sharp test is accepted to ensure that the IR image will be sharp enough.
4. Test realisation.
Click on RUN to execute the test. A window will be displayed requiring the insertion the short B&W film When the film is inserted (caution watch for the direction of the film), click on OK.The scanner will scan the first exposure film in RGB and in IR then will automatically detect the crosses present on the film to calculate the size of each image (see Automatic Crosses Detection for more information on this subject).
When this is done, the ratio will be displayed and the test will be accepted or rejected accordingly .
5. Test acceptance.
The test is accepted if the ratio (IR image size/ RGB image size) lies between 0,9990 and 1,0010.6. Other affected tests.
If the ratio is ouside the tolerances, the following tests will be affected :- 120 Cal encoder 2.
- 120 Cal RGB-IR.
- 120 ADDR.
