1. Test overview.
This test is used to program the correct firmware version on the interface board of the mounted slide gate. The Firmware is the uploaded software in the the module card corresponding, which manages the actions of this module. It is the scanner CPU board that sends the orders to the firmware of the interface board film carrier.
At the end of the programming, the correct the firmware version can be controlled using the
Slide Check Firmware
If the incorrect firmware version is programmed, the associated module (here mounted slide gate) can have unexpected behaviour and thus cause problems.
It should be noted that the DKS makes a check of the firmware version at launch, and that if the version of the uploaded firmware is not correct, a message will go up to the user, requiring to update it.
2. Test conditions.
This test relates to the Mounted slide gate inserted in the scanner.
The Mounted slide gate must be inserted in the scanner to carry out this test.
No slide must be inserted in the film carrier for this test.
The acceptance of the test is automatic.
No parameter is saved.
3. Pre-requirements.
None.
4. Tets realisation.
Click on
RUN to execute the test. The question "Film carrier interface board 1st time programmation ?" is asked. If the interface board has never been programmed, click on YES. If it has been programmed at least once in its life, click on NO. The operation starts and takes about fifteen seconds (a progression bar indicates the status of the programming of the firmware, that does not include the time of loading or the length of time it takes to do it).
It should be noted that the software checks the type of microcontroller (ATMEGA8 or AT4433) and uses the corresponding file for the programming of the firmware.
5. Test acceptance.
If the operation went smoothly, the test is automatically accepted.
The firmware version to download is in the file im1500data. It is in the GENERAL indent (at the start of the file).
Caution, this file must not be modified.
The file itself is in HEX of Hwmon index (ex: DKS \IM1500\HEX).
6. Other affected tests.
It is difficult to say which tests are affected by an incorrect or (old) firmware version, as it precisely depends on the version of this firmware (each new version made particular corrections).
7. Trouble shooting.
The test fails because the file was not found : Check that the file to be downloaded is at the correct place (in general DKS \IM1500\HEX).
