1. Test overview.
This test is used to check that the correct firmware version is present on the Mounted slide gate interface board. The firmware is uploaded in the module card corresponding, which manages the actions of this module. It is the scanner CPU board that sends orders to the firmware of the film carrier interface board.
The firmware is programmed through Hwmon using the
Slide Update Firmware test.
If the incorrect firmware version is programmed, the associated module (here the mounted slide gate) can have unexpected behaviour and thus cause problems.
It should be noted that the DKS only checks the firmware version at launch, and that if the version of the uploaded firmware is not correct, a message will go up to the user, requiring to update it.
2. Test conditions.
This test relates to the Mounted slide gate inserted in the scanner.
The Mounted slide gate must be inserted in the scanner to carry out this test.
No film slide be inserted in the film carrier for this test.
The acceptance of the test is automatic.
No parameter is saved.
3. Pre-requirements.
This test is used to control the firmware version uploaded in the film carrier, or to check that the programming of the firmware went smoothly. In this case, it is necessary to launch the
Slide Update Firmware test beforehand.
4. Test realisation.
Click on
RUN to carry out the test. The version of the uploaded firmware is displayed in the window execution. The result (accepted / rejected) will be displayed on the screen.
5. Test acceptance.
If the version of the uploaded firmware corresponds to the firmware version expected by Hwmon, the test will be accepted.
If the version of the uploaded firmware is different from the firmware version expected by Hwmon, the test will be rejected. In this case, reprogram the firmware with the
Slide Update Firmware test.
The firmware version expected by Hwmon is in the file im1500data.it is in the GENERAL indent (at the start of the file).
Warning : this file must not be modified.
6. Other affected Tests.
It is difficult to say which are the tests affected by an incorrect or (old) firmware version, as it precisely depends on the version of this firmware (each new version brought particular corrections).
7. Trouble shooting.
The test fails because the version is not correct : Reprogram the firmware with the Slide Update Firmware test.
