1. Test overview.
This test is to check that the SCSI address reader functions correctly .i.e. that the scanner is able to recognising 8 possible switch positions.
The software will ask the user to choose a different SCSI addresses , the software must be able to recognise them.
If the software does not recognise an address, the scanner might not be detected during boot up of the DKS application or the HWMON program
2. Test conditions.
This test relates only to the scanner only.
No film carrier must be present in the scanner to carry out this test.
No film is necessary for this test.
The acceptance of the test is automatic.
No parameters are saved.
3. Pre-requirements.
None.
4. Test realisation.
Click on "
RUN " to carry out the test. Whatever the position of the starting point, a message will come up asking the user to position the address reader (at the back of the scanner) on position 2. Click on " START AGAIN " once this has been done.
A new message appears requesting the user to position the address reader on position 5. Click on " START AGAIN " once this has been done.
At each position (departure, intermediary, final), the position read by the scanner is displayed on the screen.
5. Test acceptance.
If the scanner managed to read each position, the test is accepted.
6. Other affected tests.
None.
7. Trouble shooting.
If the scanner cannot not read a switch position : there could be a connection problem with the SCSI card inside the scanner. Open the scanner and check the connections. If not, the card itself is perhaps damaged, in this case, it should be changed.
