CCD RED (NEGA)

1. Test overview.

This test is an exemption from the CCD RED test. The following test should only be carried out if the test of Red CCD fails. It uses the Nega filter, another test using the 120 filter is also done if the Red CCD test fails : CCD RED (120).
The software initialises a calibration and determines the value of "dwlogR" for average and high resolution.
If there is a Red CCD problem it can cause image quality problems or reduces the scanner output.

2. Test conditions.

This test only relates to the scanner only.
No film carrier must be inserter in the scanner to carry out this test.
No film is necessary for this test.
The acceptance of the test is automatic.
No parameter are saved.

3. Pre-requirements.

Start the CCD RED test. If this fails it is necessary to complete the Red CCD (Nega) and CCD RED (120) tests. If these two tests are not completed the scanner will automatically accept the values.

4. Test realisation.

Click on "RUN" to carry out the test. The scanner will simulate a calibration (This can take a few minutes), the values of dwlogR in HR and MR will be displayed.

5. Test acceptance.

The test is accepted according to following criteria:

6. Other affected Tests

None affected tests, but possibility of incorrect image quality.

7. Trouble shooting.

  • If the value of dwlogR is outside the range of tolerances : it means that the light intensisty is to low. This can be caused by broken or damaged filters and requires the light source to be changed.
