CCD RED (120)

1. Test overview.

This test is an exemption from the testCCD RED. It is to be carried out only if the test Red CCD fails. It uses the 120 filter. Another exemption using the Nega filter is also to be done if test RED CCD fails: CCD RED (NEGA).
For this, the software will simulate a calibration and will determine a value " dwlogR " in Average and High resolution to which a criteria is applied.
If there is a Red CCD operational problem, this could cause problems of Image quality or could slow down the scanner output.

2. Test conditions.

This test only relates to the scanner only.
No film carrier must be inserted in the scanner to carry out this test.
No film is necessary for this test.
The acceptance of the test is automatic.
No parameter is saved.

3. Pre-requirements.

Start the CCD RED test. If this test fails it will be necessary to complete the following tests CCD RED (NEGA) and Red CCD (120). If not these two tests will automatically be accepted.

4. Test realisation.

Click on " RUN " to preform this test. The scanner will initialise a calibration (NOTE This takes a couple of minutes) . It will then display the results of the dwlogR in HR and MR.

5. Test acceptance.

The test is accepted according to the following criteria :

6. Other affected tests.

No test are effected by this however the possibitlity of poor image quality.

7. Trouble shooting.

  • If the value of the dwlogR is outside the permitted tolerances : it means that the intensity of the light is too low, this is caused by damaged or broken filters, therefore the light source should be changed.
