CCD RGB

1. Test overview.

This test is used to simply verify that the light emitted from the lamp is identical on all three channels (Red, Green and Blue of the RGB CCD).
The software switches on the lamp and the RGB CCD will receive a signal on each channel. It will standardize each channel as the respective signals reach more or less the same level.
If there is an operational problem of the red, green or blue channel of the RGB CCD this can cause problems with Image quality or it can slow the output of the scanner.

2. Test conditions.

This test relates only to the scanner only.
No film carrier must be insertedin the scanner to carry out this test.
No film is necessary for this test.
The acceptance of the test is automatic.
No parameter is saved.

3. Pre-requirements.

None.

4. Réalisation du test.

Click on "RUN" to carry out this test. The scanner will switch on the lamp and will position the correct filter to complete the test. The RGB CCD will use the three channels (Red,Green,Blue) and will display the results on the screen in the form of a Red, Green and Blue curve which represent the signal across the whole of the CCD.

5. Test acceptance.

The Red curve corresponds to the signal seen by the Red channel of the RGB CCD.
The Blue curve corresponds to the signal seen by the Blue channel of the RGB CCDThe Green curve corresponds to the signal seen by the Green channel of the RGB CCD.
The cyan curve corresponds to the ideal signal.
The CCD is shown here in a horizontal way : the top of the CCD is on the left, bottom on the right.
The test is passed if the three signals are superimposed.

6. Other affected tests.

None.

7. Trouble shooting.

  • If one of the three signals is zero : it means that the CCD is faulty. Check the connection or change the CCD board.
