1. Test overview.
This test is used to program the correct firmware version on the interface board of the 135 Film carrier. The firmware is the software uploaded in the module card corresponding which manages the operations of this module. It is CPU board of the scanner that sends the orders to the firmware.
At the end of the programming, the correct firmware version can be controlled using the test
135 Check Firmware.
If the incorrect firmware version is programmed, the associated module (here the 135 Film carrier) can have unexpected behaviour and cause problem.
It should be noted that the DKS does one check of the firmware version at its start up, and if the version of the uploaded firmware is incorrect, a message will be sent to the user, requiring to update it.
2. Test conditions.
This test relates to the 135 Film carrier inserted in the scanner.
The 135 Film carrier must be inserted in the scanner to carry out this test.
No film must be inserted in the film carrier for this test.
The acceptance of the test is automatic.
No parameter is saved.
3. Pre-requirements.
None
4. Test realisation.
Click on
RUN to execute the test. The question "Film carrier interface board 1st time programmation ?" is asked. If the interface board has never been programmed, click on YES. If it has been programmed at least once in its life, click on NO. The operation starts takes about fifteen seconds (a progression bar indicates the status of the programming of the firmware, this does not include the time of loading of the file and of the length of the check).
It should be noted that the software checks the type of microcontroller (ATMEGA8 or AT4433) and uses the file corresponding for the programming of the firmware.
5. Test acceptance.
If the operation runned smoothly, the test is automatically accepted.
The downloaded firmware version is to be found in the file im1500data in the GENERAL indent (at the start of the file).
Warning, this file must not be modified.
The file can be found HEX of Hwmon index (ex: DKS \IM1500\HEX).
6. Other affected test.
It is difficult to say which are the tests affected by a incorrect (old) firmware version, because this precisely depends of the version of this firmware (each new version has brought particular corrections).
7. Trouble shooting.
The test fails because the file was not found : Check that the file to be downloaded is fiLED properly (in general \DKS\IM1500\HEX).
