1. Test overview.
This test checks that the LEDS high and low (green) of the film carrier light up correctly the CCD so that the reading of the barcode (DX) is done correctly. A general verification of the level of light will be carried out.
For that, the 2 LEDS will switch on and the CCD will capture the light through the barcode lens and will control the received signal. The
135 CodBar lens will correctly position the barcode on the CCD, so that it is at a specific point, where the software will make its search for code DX.
If there is an unspecified problem on the LEDS, the lecture of code DX (film exposure numbers) can be faulty.
2. Test conditions.
This test relates to the 135 Film carrier inserted in the scanner.
The 135 Film carrier must be inserted in the scanner to carry out this test.
No film is necessary for this test.
The acceptance of the test is automatic.
No parameter is saved.
3. Pre-requirements.
None.
4. Test realisation.
Click on
RUN to carry out the test. The 2 LEDS will switch off then back on again to light up the CCD which will capt the light. Curves will displayed, corresponding to the light emitted by the LEDS.
Criteria on these curves will make it possible to accept or not the test.
5. Test acceptance.
The light signal represents the green signal of the 2 green LEDS (collected on GREEN CCD). The 2 peaks correspond to the signal of the top LED ( on the left of the curve) and of the bottom LED (to the right of the curve) - (the CCD is shown in a horizontal way).
Yellow vertical lines represent the zone of search of code DX by the software.
- the green signal must be inside the yellow openings.
- the green signal inside the yellow opening must be the most regular as possible.
- the level of the signal must be sufficient.
6. Other ffected tests.
- 135 CodBar Lens.
- 135 Code DX.
7. Trouble shooting.
- If the green signal inside the yellow zone is not regular enough : it is necessary to dull the LED to obtain a more homogeneous signal (but a little less powerful).
- If the green signal inside the yellow zone is not powerful enough : it is necessary to polish the LED to make the signal a little less homogeneous but more powerful.
- If the green signal on the right or on the left is zero : one of the LEDS does not work. Check all wiring. Change the LED if needed.
