1. Test overview.
This test is used to check that the correct firmware version is present on the interface board of the 135 Film carrier. The firmware is the software uploaded in the module card corresponding, which manages the operations of this module. It is CPU board of the scanner which sends the orders to the firmware of the interface board film carrier.
The firmware programs itself by the intermediary Hwmon using the test
135 Update Firmware.
If the incorrect firmware version is programmed, the associated module (here the 135 Film carrier) can have unexpected behaviour and cause problems.
It should be noted that the DKS does one check of the firmware version before to launching, and if the version of the uploaded firmware is not correct, a message will be sent to the user, requiring to update it.
2. Test conditions.
This test relates to the 135 Film carrier inserted in the scanner.
The 135 Film carrier must be inserted in the scanner to carry out this test.
No film must be inserted in the film carrier for this test.
The acceptance of the test is automatic.
No parameter is saved.
3. Pre-requirements.
The test can be used to controle the firmware version uploaded in the film carrier or to verify that the programmation of the firmware was done correctly. Consequently, it is necessary to launch the test
135 Update Firmware beforehand.
4. Test realisation.
Click on
RUN to execute the test. The version of the uploaded firmware is displayed on the execution window (accepted / rejected will be displayed on the screen).
5. Test acceptance.
If the version of the uploaded firmware corresponds to the firmware version expected by Hwmon, the test will be accepted.
If the version of the uploaded firmware is different of the firmware version expected by Hwmon, the test will be rejected. In this case, it is necessary to reprogram the firmware with the test
135 Update Firmware.
The firmware versionexpected by Hwmon is in the file im1500data.in theGEN ERAL index (at the start of the file).
Warning, this file must not be modified.
6. Other affected tests.
It is difficult to say which tests are affected by a incorrect (old) firmware version, as it precisely depends on the version of this firmware (each new version brought particular corrections).
7. Trouble shooting.
The test fails because the version is incorrect : Reprogram the firmware using the test 135 Update Firmware.
