1. Test Overview.
This test is used to verify that the correct firmware version is present on the interface board of the 120 film carrier. The firmware is the software uploaded in the correcponding module card, which manages the actions of this module. It is the CPU board of the scanner that sends the orders to the interface board film carrier firmware.
The firmware is programmed through the intermediary of Hwmon thanks to the test
120 Update Firmware.
If the incorrect firmware version is programmed, the associated module (here the 120 film carrier) can have unexpected behaviour and thus cause problems.
It should be noted that the DKS initialises a check of the firmware version at launch, and that if the version of the uploaded firmware is not correct, a message will be sent to the user, requiring him/her to update it.
2. Test conditions
This test relates to the 120 film carrier inserted in the scanner.
The 120 film carrier must be inserted in the scanner to carry out this test.
No film must be inserted in the film carrier for this test.
The acceptance of the test is automatic.
No parameter is saved.
3. Pre-requirements.
This test can be used to control the uploaded firmware version of the film carrier and checks that the firmware programming was done correctly. In this last case, launch the test
120 Update Firmware beforehand.
4. Test realisation.
Click on
RUN for execute the test. The uploaded firmware version is displayed in the execution window. The result (accepted / rejected) will be displayed on the screen.
5. Test acceptance.
If the version of the uploaded firmware corresponds to the firmware version expected by Hwmon, the test will be accepted.
If the version of the uploaded firmware is different from the firmware version expected by Hwmon, the test will be rejected. In this case, reprogram the firmware with the test
120 Update Firmware.
The firmware version expected by Hwmon is in the file im1500data. in the GENERAL index (at the start of the file).
Warning, this file must not be modified.
6. Other affected tests.
It is difficult to say which are the tests affected by an incorrect (old) firmware version, because this precisely depends on the version of this firmware (each new version brought particular corrections).
7. Trouble shooting.
The test will fail if the version is incorrect: Reprogram the firmware with the 120 Update Firmware test.
